And now for something completely different, I must show you this. !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! is a huge warehouse of free space pictures, from releases from NASA, ESO and other space agencies. You can browse by subject, search for your favorite galaxy and download everything! Most of the pictures can be downloaded to 4k resolutions (or even bigger, sometimes). Lots of great shots and potential wallpapers! I selected a few below:

Thanks for the link. I've been collecting astronomy and astronaut pics for years. The Astronomy Picture of the Day is part of my daily browsing routine. NASA also has a daily pic site .

Hehe, the problem is imaging the planet. So far there is only a small batch of direct imaged planets. The best we can do is something like this

A Dyson Sphere or Death Star star like station would be immensely difficult to find. Our best shot is to look for signs of technology (mainly heat or emissions, like ozone or CO2).

Cool! <3 Chandra X-Ray is my favorite site. There are wallpapers there, too! I also frequent APOD and have multiple NASA apps on my phone. You would probably really like NASA Viz (if you don't already have it, that is). :)

Nice!! I like CHANDRA very much, it is one of my favorite space telescopes. X-Rays are a signature of very powerful astronomical events, and CHANDRA is our eye to these cosmic clashes.

And CHANDRA is working 24/7 for more than 10 years!!

Thor's Helmet Nebula, for the sake of the Vikings!

Also, Rho Ophiuchi is pretty nice because the star which illuminates the gas is highly variable, so the nebula itself is variable:
